In 1998, Budweiser, the "Official Beer of NASCAR," announced
it has signed Dale Earnhardt Jr. to drive for the brand on the NASCAR Winston Cup Series
through 2004.
Earnhardt Jr. first drove the Budweiser-sponsored car in five select races on
NASCAR's premier circuit in 1999 while racing a full NASCAR Busch Series schedule. In
2000, Jr. moved to the NASCAR Winston Cup Series full time driving the red No. 8 Budweiser
Chevy.
Says August A. Busch IV of Anheuser-Busch, Inc, "Dale Jr. has distinguished
himself in the NASCAR Busch Series and we believe he is poised to become the next star in
NASCAR Winston Cup racing."
As part of his deal with Budweiser, Earnhardt Jr. was featured in an extensive line
of point-of-sale materials and licensed merchandise for the "King of Beers." He
also appeared in a variety of advertising and promotional campaigns for Budweiser and the
brand's status as the Official Beer of NASCAR.
In addition to being the Official Beer of NASCAR, Budweiser sponsors the annual Bud
Shootout and the NASCAR Winston Cup and NASCAR Busch Series Bud Pole Awards. The brand
supports its NASCAR sponsorship with a full line of racing themed advertising, merchandise
and point-of-sale materials.

Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have hunted together many
times in their lives. In June of 1999, DEI's hunt for more financial backing came to
fruition, as Remington Arms Company, Inc. announced a six-year agreement with Dale
Earnhardt, Inc. The late Earnhardt agreed to a personal endorsement contract with the
outdoor recreation company, while Earnhardt Jr. welcomed Remington on board as an
associate sponsor.
"Affiliating our great company with Dale, Dale Jr.,
and Budweiser gives Remington the perfect platform to market our 185-year heritage to
millions of outdoor enthusiasts," said Tommy Millner, CEO and president of Remington
Arms Co. "We are thrilled to be a significant part of the Earnhardt family."
"Two of my favorite things are my steering wheel and my Remington rifle,"
Earnhardt said. "So to me, this announcement means two of my favorite passions in
life are joining together. When he was young, I told Dale Jr. that hunting and racing are
a lot alike. Holding that steering wheel and holding that rifle both mean you better be
responsible."
Earnhardt Jr. also equated his favorite pastime with his career.
"Growing up, I've enjoyed hunting with my father," Earnhardt Jr. said.
"These days both his schedule and my schedule are so busy we don't get a lot of time
together. Maybe now that we have the same sponsor in Remington we can spend some time
together outdoors. I'd rather spend time with him hunting than trying to beat him on the
track."
Headquartered in Madison, N.C., the Remington Arms Company is one of the world's
leading manufacturers of sporting firearms, ammunition and accessories, including knives,
gun safes and firearms care products. It also markets Stren fishing line, baits and
accessories to fishermen worldwide.

Pennzoil became the
primary sponsor of Steve Park, Dale Jr.'s teammate, in 1998.
When Dale Jr. later joined Steve Park on the Winston Cup series, Pennzoil, already a DEI
sponsor with Park, announced it would be an associate sponsor on Dale Jr.'s car.
The Outlaw, a Pennzoil brand, has been on the rear quarter panel of the No. 8 Chevy ever
since. The Outlaw® brand of gasoline additives is a relatively new brand of cleaners and
octane boosters. Visit their web site here.
